Marta Zapparoli to włoska eksperymentalna artystka dźwiękowa, improwizatorka, performerka, badaczka samouk działająca w dziedzinie sztuki dźwięku od 2003 roku. W swojej twórczości ukazuje głęboki związek pomiędzy energiami, elektromagnetyką, magnetyką, falami radiowymi, sensoryką i materią, a także akustyką. Artystka korzysta z szerokiej gamy technik eksperymentalnych i sprzętu. Używa narzędzi naukowych i technologicznych (np. anteny, niektóre własnej budowy, detektory, odbiorniki radiowe, SDR czyli radio definiowane programowo) jako medium do rozwijania swoich projektów dźwiękowych. W ostatnich latach jej działania skupiały się na wykonywanych samodzielnie nagraniach elektromagnetycznego spektrum pochodzącego z atmosfery i przestrzeni kosmicznej, które stanowiły podstawę jej badań artystycznych. Środowisko to jest nieograniczonym źródłem informacji, które stymulują jej wyobraźnię, kreatywność i świadomość oraz pozwalają wkroczyć na bezkresne tereny. Artystka wprowadza niewidzialną dźwiękową sieć w wyraźnie zakrojoną auralność przekształcając rzeczywistość w nowe wizje poprzez kompozycje, występy na żywo oraz dźwiękowe interwencje typu site-specific.
Poza projektem solowym występuje także w wielu projektach z innymi artystami m.in.: Pareidolia z Liz Allbee, The Elks (Fagaschinski, Roisz, Allbee), Circuit Training V ensemble, Vertigo Transport (z Burkhardem Beinsem), duet z Billym Roiszem, duet z Gretą Christensen, trio z Martinem Lorenzen, Sebastianem Hofmannem. Od 2009 roku jest członkiem 24-osobowej berlińskiej Splitter Orchester.
Występowała z wieloma poważanymi muzykami i zespołami, a także pojawiła się na festiwalach na całym świecie: Maerzmusik, Atonal, A’LARM, Fusion, Darmstädt, Sincussion, Heroines of Sound, Eavesdrop (Niemcy), Huddersfield, Sonorities, Colour out of Space (Wielka Brytania), Borealis (Norwegia),Sonic Circuit , High Zero (Stany Zjednoczone), Geiger (Szwecja), Konfrontationen, ArtActs (Austria), Zwei Tage Strom, Earweare (Szwajcaria), Crack, Meteo Mulhouse Music Fest (Francja), Alternativa (Czechy) i inne.

Marta Zapparoli is an Italian experimental sound artist, improviser, performer, self-taught researcher active in sound art since 2003. In her work, there is a deep relationship between energies, electromagnetic, magnetic, radio waves, sensorial and matter, as well as the acoustical. She also employs a wide range of experimental techniques and equipment. She uses scientific and technological tools (including antennas, some of them self-built and detectors, radio receivers, sdr) as a medium to develop her sound project. In recent years her practice has been focused on self-made recordings of the electromagnetic spectrum coming from the atmosphere and the outer-space, as the primary material for her artistic investigation. This environment is an endless source of information that stimulates her imagination, creativity, and awareness, and allows her to enter into boundless territories. She brings the invisible sonic web into a distinct aurality, transforming reality into new visions through compositions, live performances, and site-specific sound interventions.
Besides her solo project, she has extensive duos and larger group collaborations including Pareidolia with (Liz Allbee), The Elks (Fagaschinski, Roisz, Allbee), Circuit Training V ensemble, Vertigo Transport (with Burkhard Beins), duo with Billy Roisz, a duo with Greta Christensen, Trio with Martin Lorenz, Sebastian Hofmann. Since 2009 She is a member of Berlin’s 24-piece Splitter Orchester.
